The Show Must Go On

“The Baltimore Ravens are now on the clock.” As we patiently wait for Commissioner Goodell to put our team on the clock to find a sense of sport’s normality, I find myself reflecting on my normal. In the first major sporting event in over a month, the National Football League is making the ultimate display that the show must go on!

For over 40 years, Kennedy Services has been the staffing partner to businesses and organizations throughout Maryland. Together, we have provided the vehicle for Maryland residents to flourish and grow. In turn, we have seen these entities and our own company grow. We have grown as a family. I have grown as a person. Like the resilient people that we are, we have adapted and continue to move forward. Our show will go on.

We embrace the responsibility to ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time. This allows them to focus on their essential positions in government, nonprofit, manufacturing, and construction roles. Our traffic control flaggers assist major infrastructure companies in paving the way to a better future, literally.

I watch a lot of movies, so maybe this mentality has been ingrained in me. Combine that with a tireless work ethic instilled in me by my mother; I have formed a burning desire to win. I have no doubt our team will get through this, and assist our clients and employees get through it as well. Our mission is guiding us through, and I urge you to reflect on your purpose, and what motivates you.

We do it for our kids as we juggle our work responsibilities to become substitute teachers to our children. We do it for each other as we go the extra mile to ensure that the business operates as usual. Most importantly, we do it for ourselves because a sense of accomplishment feels good. These reasons are what keep us going.

We are moments away from our team being on the clock. Think about the person sitting at home that has prepared their entire life to hear their name called. That person can be you. This is not the time to throw in the towel. It is time to lace up your cleats. Now is the time to put in the work. So when this is over, and you hear your name called, you will be ready. The show will go on. Don’t let it go on without you.
